Daniel Sirera

The people's mayor

My proposals

Safer Barcelona
1

Safer Barcelona

In our city, a crime is committed every 3 minutes, and 3 sexual assaults occur every day. Barcelona suffers from a crime rate 50% higher than Madrid. We need 1,000 more Urban Guard officers and 3,000 Mossos d'Esquadra. We will install security cameras in high-crime areas, improve street lighting, and toughen penalties by reforming the Multi-Offense Law, which the PSOE has kept blocked in Congress.

Barcelona with more and better housing
2

Barcelona with more and better housing

We cannot allow renting or buying an apartment in Barcelona to be an impossible mission that drives young people out of the city. We will eliminate the 30% reservation. We will remove policies that favor illegal tenants and reduce rental market supply. We will promote public-private collaboration to build new housing and help young people become independent.

Barcelona free of squatters
3

Barcelona free of squatters

Hundreds of occupied properties are recorded in Barcelona. 22 public properties are squatted, and Collboni does nothing to evict them. Therefore, we will launch the anti-squatter office approved at the proposal of Daniel Sirera, which the mayor has not opened, and we will immediately evict all occupied municipal properties.

Barcelona with lower taxes
4

Barcelona with lower taxes

We will eliminate the waste tax (on the water bill, we pay more in taxes than for consumption). We will apply higher IBI bonuses for large and single-parent families, as well as for neighbors and businesses affected by long-term construction projects. We will eliminate the capital gains tax and reduce the vehicle tax.

Easy and accessible Barcelona
5

Easy and accessible Barcelona

The Barcelona City Council sometimes takes more than 1,000 days to issue a license. We will end the prior appointment requirement, reduce bureaucratic obstacles and paperwork, and facilitate online access to procedures for people with more difficulties.

Barcelona without problematic bike lanes
6

Barcelona without problematic bike lanes

Improvisation and lack of planning in the design of the bike lane network by the Colau-Collboni government have left us with absurd lanes like the one on Via Augusta, which has worsened traffic in the area, or risky situations with lanes going against traffic flow, in bus stops, and near trash containers. We will put an end to these blunders that endanger pedestrians and cyclists and harm city mobility.

Barcelona, city of motorcycles
7

Barcelona, city of motorcycles

Barcelona is a motorbike city, as evidenced by the presence of over half a million motorcycles. They are fast, light vehicles that facilitate city mobility and help reduce traffic congestion. We will allow motorcycles to use the bus-taxi lane.

A more humane Barcelona
8

A more humane Barcelona

Around 300 people, including minors, live in settlements, and 1,384 people are homeless. Barcelona cannot afford this social emergency situation. We will increase public-social collaboration, which is essential to mediate and provide opportunities for these people.

Barcelona in the world
9

Barcelona in the world

The left aims to dismantle the entire tourism sector, an industry we must preserve and care for, as it generates around 150,000 jobs in our city and represents 15% of the GDP. In response, we will work to bring the Olympic Games back to Barcelona, to host major international events, and to become the European capital of fashion. We will promote the expansion of El Prat airport, the Mediterranean Corridor, and better connections with the rest of Spain, Europe, and the world.

Barcelona capital
10

Barcelona capital

The Generalitat of Catalonia owes 207 million euros to Barcelona. Barcelona needs these resources, which rightfully belong to it, to expand the public housing supply, improve social policies and care for vulnerable people, enhance infrastructure, and have more resources to become a safer city.

Sirera with you

My bosses are the people of Barcelona, and that’s why my duty is to visit all 73 neighborhoods: to listen to their problems and concerns, and propose solutions to make their lives easier. Barcelona deserves more. It deserves a municipal government committed to the city above ideologies. One that puts an end to insecurity and incivility. With a clear project to restore its prestige.
